Week 4 Reading Reflection

For this week, read this NYT article by Gina Kolata.

Then we'd like you to try using NotebookLM to help unpack two scientific articles: a classic 1991 article by Alberch, and a 2010 article that reflects back on Alberch's article.

Here's what we'd like you to do with these articles. Make sure you're signed in to your college.harvard.edu account, and go to the Google homepage. On the "nine dots" menu in the upper-right corner, find the NotebookLM icon and open it. Create a new notebook and upload the two PDF files specified above.

Then you can use the AI chatbot to ask questions about the article - for instance, ask for a summary at a level appropriate to your background (maybe you took high school biology?). Ask follow-up questions. Try making a podcast ("audio overview") and see what it's like.
