You're not required to know the following for your project, but it's some pretty powerful stuff -- pretty much anything can be done in Views if you're creative enough. 

Note that I did run into a snag mid-duplication-reduction here due to using multi-value fields in my example. Proably best if you're following along to start with a very simple listing of title or summary only to help avoid running into issues.
