Week 10 Completion Checklist
Videos
Videos this week are a bit of a grab bag -- lots of smallish things that you need to understand before actually building your site, culminating in a critical concept for understanding Drupal site building: custom content types.
NOTE: You may not (probably will not) be happy with the way your custom content types look on screen. Please do not worry about this for now. In 2 weeks, you’ll learn about Views, which will help you change the way the information for your custom content views is sliced and diced. Then in 3 weeks, we’ll cover custom theming, which should take care of any residual ugliness on your site.
Completion checklist:
- Create at least one custom content type for your site.
- Complete your 10+ pages of content.
- Make at least 3 pages using your custom type(s)
- Make at least 1 page using Drupal's Basic Page type (and be sure to use it appropriately)
- Include images on some of your pages
- Create content for your blog (you may or may not have a listing for your blog yet -- this is a good thing to do during the Views week)
- Create a site-wide menu
