You will be required to post your assignments on your own website. You may use whatever type of web hosting you want, and you may work with any provider.

We do not care what the URL is for your work. We only care that it is posted online. Make the URL as long or short as you want. Custom domain names are not required; some hosts will give you an "ugly" URL for free.

There are a few places you can go where the web hosting is free for students. Here's what we recommend.

1. Get a harvard.edu email address

If you have not yet gotten a harvard.edu email address, you can get one here. Many hosts want you to "prove" you are a student, and this is a good way to do it.

2. Preferred hosting: SiteGround

SiteGround is a great host that will give you a free account for a year. At the end of the year, you can cancel it, or you can continue for $9.95/mo. This hosting is compatible with any of my other web courses. It has also been used for DGMD E-25 in the past.

SiteGround will allow you to use your own existing web address, or you can buy one from them, or you can use their free URL. The free URL would look something like www.siteground237.com/~jenkrame. We do not care what you do for URL/web address. This is up to you.

3. Reclaim Hosting

Reclaim Hosting is $30/year for a cPanel option. This should also be adequate for this course and DGMD E-25.

4. Other untested options

These are options that Jen has not tested, but she has found online that may be of interest to you.

ZNETLive: Only one database offered. This won't matter for this course, but it may be a problem for the CMS course.
000webhosting: This looks like free hosting for anyone. Let me know what you think if you give this a try.
AccuWebHosting: Some strings attached, but once you deal with that, the hosting looks OK.
